Learn how to protect yourself against scams and WhatsApp hacks – starting this Cybersecurity Awareness Month
Updated: 3 days ago
Would you like to know how to protect yourself against scammers, whether your passwords are as secure as you think they are, and make it harder for hackers to get into your WhatsApp account? Join our online-safety masterclasses for practical advice that you can start implementing right away.

Do you need stronger passwords? Most people do. The skills to spot suspicious messages and scammers' manipulation tactics? Yes, everyone needs that too. Knowing what to do if your WhatsApp gets hacked? Another big yes or, even better, you need to know how to make it harder to hack your accounts.
If you've ever felt concerned about your or your family members' online safety, but didn't exactly know what to do about it or where to start, you're exactly who this masterclass series is for.
Our series of three one-hour online masterclasses start on 29 October, the last Thursday of Cybersecurity Awareness Month, and give you practical tips to improve your online safety right away. And the best part? As always, we're staying away from tech jargon, sticking to our motto of simplifying online safety and breaking everything down into practical steps you can take right away.
What's covered
Masterclass 1: Scammers are getting smarter. So can you.
Thursday 29 October, 19:00–20:00
Scams are getting harder to spot, especially with AI now doing some of the scammers' work for them. In this session, you'll learn the "recipe" scammers use to manipulate people, see real-life scam examples, and walk away knowing how to spot the warning signs.
Masterclass 2: The password habits putting you at risk (and the easy fix)
Thursday 5 November, 19:00–20:00
If you're reusing the same password (or a slight variation of it), you're putting your online accounts and therefore your personal information at risk. This session shows you why secure passwords are vital and how to test if your passwords are as strong as you think they are. We'll show you how to use a password manager, which means that you'll only have to remember one master password going forward.
Masterclass 3: What the hack?! Staying safe on WhatsApp
Thursday ber, 19:00–20:00
Ever received a strange message from a contact only to discover their WhatsApp account has been taken over by someone else? Or has a random stranger messaged you out of nowhere? This session unpacks ways of protecting your WhatsApp account against hackers and how to spot fake or dodgy messages – plus how to help the more vulnerable people in your life, like your children or elderly parents, stay safe on this platform.
