What we do

NetSavvy’s training packages and services are designed to help all internet users understand how to spot false information, keep their personal information private, and protect themselves and their loved ones against online scams and other cyberthreats. We don’t use complicated cybersecurity speak and technical jargon. We break it down and equip you with practical skills to improve your online privacy, safety and security.

We customise our workshops and consultations for a variety of internet and social media users – from teens, students, young adults and millennials to those who only started using the internet and social media in their 30s, 40s or later. Book a workshop or consultation for yourself, your employees, colleagues, students, family or group of friends.

Cybersafety and digital literacy training and consultations

Depending on your needs and the time available, we can cover the following:

  • How to identify and protect yourself and those you care about against online scams

  • The dangers of social engineering (manipulation) techniques like phishing, smishing and vishing; identity theft; cyberbullying and sextortion

  • How scammers use artificial intelligence to trick you

  • Password best practice and the importance of two-factor authentication

  • How "big tech" companies track your online searches and how to safely browse the internet

  • Safe and secure social media use (we look at WhatsApp too)

  • What happens when you die? How to ensure your loved ones can access your online accounts should the worst happen

Training on fact-checking in the age of artificial intelligence

We offer training in fact-checking and verification and all things digital literacy. Topics we typically cover include:

  • How to identify and debunk dis- and misinformation, sometimes referred to as "fake news"

  • How to use freely available online verification and geolocation tools and techniques to establish where and when images and videos were taken

  • How to identify AI-generated content, including visuals used to spread dis- and misinformation or for online scams

  • Responsible AI use: what happens to the content I feed the "AI beast" and how do I ensure the results I get are accurate?

Educational talks and presentations

We do educational talks on the topics above for larger groups of people. You can also book us to speak at your next event.

Content and campaign development

Are you looking for educational material on cybersafety or digital literacy to use in your organisation's internal communications, on your intranet or online training platform? We can develop it for you.

Customised consulting and training services

We offer customised training and/or consultation services on an individual or group basis, depending on your specific requirements. These include but are not limited to the following:

  • We help you assess your current level of online safety and identify elements that might put you at risk

  • We guide you in implementing easy-to-use tools such as password managers and authenticator apps to improve your online safety and help prevent unauthorised access to your online accounts
